Feeding the Toddler

REMEMBER MOM

Transitioning into motherhood is a challenging time especially when perinatal mood disorders arise such as postpartum depression. Although motherhood is a beautiful experience, it can also feel isolating and lonely. Emphasis during postpartum care is usually placed on the infant and ensuring their good health. Infants are checked up on 2 weeks after birth by a medical doctor, but a new mom might have to wait around 6 weeks to be seen by hers. Our goal at Remember Mom is quite simple: to remember our moms. We aim to provide mothers of all backgrounds with essentials needed to take on motherhood, as well as resources for when life gets difficult. Our hope is in doing so, less women go untreated for perinatal mood disorders because someone remembered them.

If you or someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or by dialing 988. You can also chat with an online counselor 24/7 by visiting 988lifeline.org/chat.
